i have written this 5 week plan, and gathered/made resources for it for my year 6 class. This is in preparation for this years SPAG test. I will need to upload the other resources in a separate post. Written as a revision unit for my year 6 class. Based on the short film 'The mystery of mister hollow;' (available on the literacy shed website) Plan is for one week, all resources are included. A 3 week fully resourced Shakespeare unit based on Richard the third. I have written it for upper KS2 but it could be adapted for any age or key stage, Each day is differentiated and resourced. A series of 4 Poetry lessons, that teach and revise form poetry: 1. haiku 2. kenning 3. calligrams 4. concrete Linked to the theme of winter (and animals) , chdn create a different type of poem each day. All resources, presentations and resources are included.

3 Posters that I created to explain the 9 types of tense that are taught at ks2 in the new curriculum. There are also practical examples of each type of tense. Perfect for the working wall or in the front of English books. Simple and easy to follow.

Outstanding lesson - Judged by HMI inspection. I originally planned this lesson when coaching and mentoring a year 4 teacher, to model challenge for the more able and guided groups. I updated and redrafted the plan to teach the lesson myself in year 5 for a HMI inspection, in 2014 for which the lesson was judged outstanding. A whole week of planning and resources, aimed at year 3/4. Linked to the Egyptian book of the dead. This week long unit really improved the writing in my class, taking the process step by step and modelling at each stage. They were then able to do the process independently in our subsequent units. The week opens by watching an animated version of the myth. Children then spend the week learning how to structure and write a 5 part action story, using description, showing not telling, suspense and detail. Designed to incorporate lots of shared writing and modelling as a class and in pairs.
