A plan which contains all of the instructions, and the resources to set up a crime scene in your classroom. The only thing missing is for you to include the samples from your own crime scene (as this was how I organised the original lesson - with children genuinely ‘detecting’ the crime. However, I have added fingerprint samples, and crime scene photos for a quicker turnaround! I have used this several times, very successfully, both as a WOW topic starter, as science investigation, and even, once as a BIG writing hook. Please leave feedback.

An art scheme of work, for upper KS2, based around cultural diversity in tribes of people around the world. Chdn use batik, aboriginal symbols and T Shirt decorating. We finished the topic, with a sleepover in school - with the children setting up camp in the field, and displaying all of their learning in and around their tents. We then invited the rest of the school and parents to come and share with us. We served foods and listened to music from the different cultural groups. Geography has been uploaded in a separate unit. Really successful way of reinforcing grammar concepts in idle or spare classroom moments. Cut up and laminate - so they last forever!

A really successful table-top tool to enable chdn to choose more precise words. Laminate and cut out the wheels, then bundle them together with treasury tags (punch a hole in the stem of each wheel) Versions are included for common words and colours.

3 Posters that I created to explain the 9 types of tense that are taught at ks2 in the new curriculum. There are also practical examples of each type of tense. Perfect for the working wall or in the front of English books. Simple and easy to follow.

A transition day lesson, full of ideas for getting to know your new class. Could be used on transition day, or on the first day of term. UPDATED FOR 2023 PowerPoint is fully adaptable to your needs, but takes you through the lesson plan step by step. All of the resources are included too. The activities all lead to potential displays for your classroom. 1,. Growth mindset poster activity - feeds into a discussion about the type of learners we want to be. 2. Guess Who bunting - children design their own piece to match their characters, using likes and dislikes etc… Makes an effective display for the start of the year. 3. A passport which will provide space for key information about students and mini art works to complete on transition day. Suitable for KS2. Could be printed onto a single sheet of A3 to make it large enough for display. (this would make it A5 on each surface) 4. A blank mobile phone template - for a Selfie portrait activity and display. I did it Snap chat style with text and images too. Made a really great display for September. Ideas for other time fillers, to avoid running out of activities!

A 3 week fully resourced Shakespeare unit based on Richard the third. I have written it for upper KS2 but it could be adapted for any age or key stage, Each day is differentiated and resourced. This is a 6 week fully resourced Scheme of work for art. It is ideal to teach alongside a unit on the Wars of the Roses or medieval/Tudor history. It explores illuminated letters and heraldry. 2 weeks planning for persuasive speech writing. Written for my Year 6 class but could be adapted. My class found it challenging but loved it - some great writing came from it too. A complete unit of art, based around the underground railroad/freedom quilt tradition. Perfect for a cross curricular topic on the Caribbean and its history (linked to the slave trade) Children learn about the underground railroad movement, its songs and also its symbolic artwork.
