This is a 20 slide powerpoint presentation that tackles the subject of Workplace Diversity. Our workplaces are made up of many different races, cultures and languages. This often creates communication problems that slow down production, cause misunderstandings and generally can create a divided workforce if issues are not addressed.

This resource is for those that are wanting to improve their vocabulary skills around Health and Safety. Often the words in policies and documentation are not clear and straightforward. This is a fun way to learn. Can be used as a lesson starter, or as a review at the end of the lesson (exit ticket).
These flash cards can be used individually, with pairs, teams or groups of learners.
Teams compete to find the correct word that is a best fit for the definitions. Ask them to write 1-12 or 1-4 on a piece of paper or device. If you have less time use the slides that contain 4 words only.
Time learners and ask them to write their answers down for their pair, team or group.
Once the time is up, click on each square to reveal the correct answer. (answers may differ and this provides an good opportunity for discussion – however to get a point, the team must have the word that is listed on the screen).
Tally up the correct results to find a winner!

Students can work through in groups or on their own. They move from room to room until all questions and activities have been completed correctly. This escape room has been created using Google Forms and is self checking.
A scenario is presented that sees the students embark on an exciting adventure where their keen investigative skills and knowledge of Thanksgiving traditions will be put to the test. Their mission is to solve the mystery of the stolen Thanksgiving artifacts from the Thanksgiving Art Museum. A cunning thief has taken valuable items related to this cherished holiday, and it’s up to them to discover who took them. As they progress through this escape room, they will follow a trail of clues, riddles, and puzzles that will lead them to the thief’s identity. Their journey will require them to unlock the secrets of Thanksgiving’s history, culture, and significance.
The objective calls for them to demonstrate knowledge on Thanksgiving, amongst other critical thinking skills. Once they pass through each challenge successfully they will have escaped the room and identified the thief.

Challenge 1: The Museum Mystery - involves research and Gap fill activity.
Challenge 2: Research to find out the year of a painting by Winslow Homer
Challenge 3: Thanksgiving Vocabulary - unscramble the words to escape to next room by entering a code.
Challenge 4: Learning about Thanksgiving history by watching a video and answering questions related to it.
Challenge 5: The Thanksgiving riddle challenge - students must work out what the riddles refer to.
To move to the next room students must input a code derived from the tasks.
The Escape room can be completed individually or in groups. They generally take about 1 period to complete.
