Resource 1: Introduces key vocabulary of buildings and services in the town with vocabulary exercises, translation, reading and a sentence builder.

A standalone lesson on the topic of “primary school” using the imperfect tense. Some knowledge of the imperfect tense is required prior to this lesson.
The starter is matching up key imperfect verbs from the board to their English equivalents on the handout. Pupils could then use there verbs to write sentences about their primary school. There is then a selection of different and interesting adjectives that pupils can use to talk about their schools. There is a reading comprehension & a gap-fill. The final activity is translation into Spanish using the imperfect tense and recycling all the vocabulary from this lesson.
The resources are a model for pupils to then produce their own written/oral answer to: ¿Cómo era tu escuela primaria?

A standalone resource to boost GCSE writing skills. It is based on a longer writing question on the topic of media and technology with exercises for pupils to work through, including error collection, a ‘structures search’, verb conjugation and gap-fill. The model answer can then be used to model success in writing.
Following this, there is a retranslation activity in which pupils can retranslate the model answer from English to Spanish, before writing their own.
