The fully editable document includes spaces for temperature, wind speed and direction, cloud cover, precipitation and other types of weather. Parts of the Skeletal System Worksheet

(1)
This worksheet comprises of four activities that all relate to the parts of the skeletal system -skull, tibia, fibula, ulna, pelvis, ribs, spine, femur, patella etc. The activities are as follows: a) Anagrams of the parts of the skeletal system. b) Label a diagram with some of the parts of the skeletal system. c) A word search with some of the parts of the skeletal system with extra bonus words hidden within. It serves as a review or follow-up to an introduction of the system and the basic process. Children are expected to know the names of the parts, how to spell them, identify them on a diagram and understand what their basic role is in the system. *Extension task idea: Ask the children to choose one or two of the bones in the skeleton and relate it’s structure to its function. They could also create their own version of the skeletal song or create their own mnemonic to help remember the names of the bones. * The document is mostly editable so you can change some of the parts to suit your children’s needs.

Country Fact File Worksheet - Japan

Country Fact File Worksheet - Japan

(0)
This fact finding worksheet is made up of 16 statements about the human and physical geography of Japan. Each statement has 1-3 blanks that the children have to fill in through either prior knowledge or researching on the internet or in books. The final part of the worksheet is a word search which contains many of the answers and other words too. It even has a hidden message that is only revealed when the children have found a certain number of words. The worksheet serves as a nice introduction to various facts about Japan and requires the children to think about what search terms to use to find the information they need effectively. I usually have the children work in pairs for this as they can bounce ideas off each other, discuss and divide the questions up between them. You could even provide a certain statement to each student and then have them share their findings at the end for others to record.

Google Earth - Scavenger Hunt

Google Earth - Scavenger Hunt

(0)
This fun activity involves children using Google Earth to find a variety of places or things around the world. They aren’t specific places per se, but generally places. Examples include a football stadium, cactus, iceberg etc. The idea of having generic places and things to find is that the children generally aren’t able to just do a text search. They have to actively seek and find! Children can either using a snipping tool or PrtSc (Print Screen) to save a picture of the place/thing or they could provide the coordinates of their find. This could either work as an individual competition - see who can find all the places in the quickest time. Or it could be done as a collective effort - the whole class working to find the different places before the time runs out. I hope your children enjoy it as much as mine did!

Giant A3 Ancient Rome Crossword Puzzle

This is a giant A3 sized crossword puzzle that I use to review our Ancient Rome unit at the end of term. I usually let children work in pairs if they want to. Also, initially I won’t let them consult any resources or ask questions, just to see how far they get first. There are more than 20 questions in total! Here are some of them to give you an idea of the level required. A common person or person not of the patrician class. The main unit of the Roman army. It generally had around 5400 soldiers and was divided up into groups of men called cohorts and centuries. A group of prestigious men who advised the consuls. A large oval shaped stadium used for chariot races. A manmade channel used for delivering water to Roman towns. This puzzle is would be suitable for upper KS2 and KS3.

40 Planet Fact Cards Matching Game

(0)
This document is made up of 40 different cards (4 fact cards for each of the 8 planets in our solar system). Please see the preview for insight on the variety of different facts. Ideally, print on A3 and cut up the cards. The idea is for children to match the facts up to the correct planet. They could also put the planets in order from the sun as an additional task. I find this best suited to groups of 3-4 children so print off enough copies for your class. It works well as a starter to a unit on space but also could be used during or at the end to see how much they have learned. If you can, laminate the cards for future use. I hope your children enjoy this activity! Please leave a review if you’re satisfied.

A3 Board Game Template [Fully Editable]

A3 Board Game Template [Fully Editable]

(0)
The first part of this A3 board game document is based on Snakes and Ladders. The board is fully editable, with the ability to type in the spaces as well as move around the snakes and ladders. The second part of the document contains the same board, but this time with question mark spaces and fully editable question cards to use with it. This way, the board game can be used in a variety of different subjects. Children really love using the board games to review topics. I’ve used it in English, science and maths as well as other subjects. The ability to answer a question allows the student to roll the die again and the snakes and ladders add that extra element of fun and luck to the game. Children can use anything as counters in the game. We usually have a mishmash of coins, pencil sharpeners and erasers. As you can see from the preview, the board game itself is very colourful. However, I’ve also included black and white versions of each game if you need to cut costs a bit. I hope your children enjoy it as much as mine do. If you like it, please kindly leave a review. Thank you.
Interactive Book Quiz - Reveal the Picture

Interactive Book Quiz - Reveal the Picture

(0)
This PowerPoint based activity is made up of 12 numbered tiles which when individually clicked on will reveal a question behind them. When a student or group gets the correct answer the question tile can then be removed to reveal a part of the picture hiding behind. It’s perfect for Book Day or even as a warmer for a reading lesson. All the questions relate famous children’s books. Please take a look at the previews to see the questions. The game is fully editable, so with a few clicks, (instructions in the PowerPoint), you can change the content as you please and use it for any question from any topic you like! I usually split the class up into teams for this and let them have one collected guess at the picture if they answer a question correctly. The first team to correctly state what book the picture is about, are the winners.

Fractions Art [Designed for Online]

Fractions Art [Designed for Online]

(0)
This art/maths crossover is designed to be used online as a Google Doc. It could still be printed out though. It’s made up of a 10x10 grid in which children have to create a pattern or picture (with the Google Doc background changer) using six different colours. Once they have created their art, the second job is to identify the fractions of each of the colours they used in making it. It’s a fun way to connect maths and art and let’s the children create pixel type art. Expect a lot of Minecraft related stuff to be handed in! Finally, it’s great for use in Google Classroom where every child gets their own copy. You can then easily check their individual progress live and then check their results.
