GCSE physics worksheet/handout on Change in momentum (impulse). Teacher’s copy of the handout includes complete notes and answers to questions. I have included both the PDF and DOC version of the same handout for your ease of use. Learning objective: Understand that Newton’s second law can be expressed using momentum. Recall and use the equation relating force, change in momentum, and time. ( In this resource, I have not made reference to “impulse” because the syllabus that I follow does not require the use of this vocab. Radioactivity GCSE Physics I got my pupils to make their own radiation badge to learn about alpha, beta, and gamma radiation’s penetrating power. They cut out ‘photographic films’ and darkened the areas that would be affected when the badge is exposed to each type of radiations. I have included a few versions of the activity so that you can print out the version most suitable for you and your class. Hope this is useful in your pupils’ learning process!

Here’s a handout that I give my physics students for when we learn about the difference between stationary waves and progressive waves. This set of powerpoint presentations consists of 28 slides (around 3 hours of work for students), including step-by-step instruction for 2 practicals. There is also a revision mat / knowledge organiser in full color and can be printed as an A3 sheet. (45min to 1 hour worth of revision for students) Learning objectives covered: Explain what is meant by the poles of a magnet. Plot the magnetic field around a bar magnet. Describe magnetic materials and induced magnetism. Describe the Earth’s magnetic field. Describe the magnetic effect of a current. Topic: Energy / Energy stores / Types of energy Level: GCSE, key stage 4 I am following the AQA science (physics) syllabus but this resource is suitable for anyone teaching KS4 physics on Energy Stores ( or previously known as Different Types of Energy). Resources: 1. Powerpoint slides: 18 slides with clickable items for navigation. Answers to questions in slides reveal upon clicking. I have written “Presenter’s notes” under some slides, mostly about extension ideas and some simple notes on the theory. 2. Notes for pupils: Use this 3 page document as worksheets or handouts. Pupils can take notes during lesson or complete tasks in this editable document. Also, it includes 1 exam style question. 3. Printout: A list of descriptions (clues) for pupils to read and guess which energy store the description is referring to. (This can be cut out and put in a hat for pupils to pick out.) This makes Task 1 in the powerpoint interactive. Hope this resource is helpful for you. Please do let me know if there’s any suggestions for improvement.
