About
The Japan Foundation is a Japanese public organization established in 1972, dedicated to promoting cultural and intellectual exchange between Japan and other nations through the implementation of comprehensive international cultural exchange projects. The Japan Foundation, Sydney was founded in 1978. The Language Department works to support Japanese language education in schools throughout Australia and New Zealand. We provide language resources for teachers and learners, both physical and online. These resources include smartboard programs, manga and anime lessons, and DVDs. All offer a fun and interactive way for students to enjoy studying Japanese. The Japan Foundation, Sydney also conducts intensive seminars twice a year. These seminars enable teachers around Australia and New Zealand to improve their Japanese language and teaching skills. For students of Japanese, we run the ever popular Art Speaks Japanese Contest, Video Matsuri Contest and Speech Contests.
