House was created by DJs and music producers from Chicago’s underground club culture in the early/mid-1980s, as DJs began altering disco songs to give them a more mechanical beat. The lesson covers all this and how House music quickly developed into one of the most successful popular music genres and the first EDM style (Electronic Dance Music). You can also purchase this resource, along with others in the massive Bundle “History of Modern Music: Pre-1950 to Modern-day”. The presentation is more than 50 slides, each with an eye-catching design for better student engagement and also linked to classroom tasks that feed in and work along with the presentation. The ‘Moondog Coronation Ball’ was a concert held at the Cleveland Arena in Cleveland, Ohio, on 21st March 1952. It is generally accepted as the first major Rock and Roll concert. It was organized by Alan Freed (a disc jockey and is considered to have popularized the term “Rock and Roll” at the famous WJW-Radio station. Designed to inspire, educate, and spark meaningful discussions, “Moondog Coronation Ball 1952 - Rock and Roll History” encourages students to delve into the moment Rock and Roll music started to become the number one music style of the new “Teen Culture” of the 1950s and started to become a totally new genre in its own right.
