Lesson 1 - What is a Computer System? A lesson designed for students to understand and be able to define what a computer system is. Pupils will be looking at the different types of basic computer systems, used in and around school and discussing the different types of tasks you can use a computer system for. This is to encourage pupils to develop their understanding of why we need computers and how they can be used in the real world. Lesson 2 - Input and Output Devices A lesson designed for students to be introduced to input and output devices and give examples of these in basic computer systems. Pupils will be identifying basic devices, explaining what they are used for within a computer system and then using this knowledge to think about how computer systems are used in different industries e.g. Airports, supermarkets and hospitals. This lesson develops on from the previous lesson about what computer systems are. Answers to all activities are included within the presentation.
