This assembly script tells the story of Diwali in the form of a rhyming couplet poem. It is designed to be both engaging and educational for a class of 30 children. Each child has a role, whether as a narrator, character, or part of a group reenacting key scenes from the Diwali story. The poem covers the return of Lord Rama, Sita, and Lakshmana to Ayodhya, their triumph over evil, and the lighting of lamps to celebrate goodness. Each day, I read a part of The Twits before the end of the day, and the following morning, the children answer the comprehension questions once the chapter is finished. Answers have been included so marking is less onerous. This resource is also great for parents to use at home with their children. A Word document and PDF file of the task has been included so the questions can be edited easily.
