This resource can be used to support writing fairytale news. This pack includes 2 PowerPoints which explore headlines and fairytale crimes to discuss and use as a stimulus for children’s own writing along with blank newspaper templates and crime scene images. There are five sample copies of news reports which can be used as WAGOLLs (linked to Little Red Riding Hood, The Gingerbread Man, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, Jack and the Beanstalk and The Three Little Pigs) & used to identify the features of news reports (I used post-it notes with my class for them to label the parts) and a planning template for children’s own reports. A useful wanted poster template is also included which could be used as an extension activity to help capture the fairytale villains whilst promoting the use of expanded noun phrases. N.b. Publisher & PDF copies included.
