This is an interactive, self-marking activity for engaging pupils with ten of the main** author techniques ** in ‘Romeo and Juliet’. Students are given a riddle and must match each definition to a choice of techniques in order to solve it. A word bank is provided on the activity. This activity will help to engage your students with the names, definitions and spellings of key subject terminology for GCSE English Literature. Self-marking - if the student’s screen spells out the whole word, they’ve chosen all of the terms correctly! Great to use as a starter, plenary, revision or homework activity. Can be used at any point of teaching the play, or at the pre-reading stage, as no characters or events from the novel are featured in this activity. Suitable for Year 7-11. This activity will take students between 5 and 10 minutes to complete. Please note: This is a Microsoft Excel activity. Students will need access to Excel to be able to use this.
