Suitable for EYFS including children with SEND
I have been an Early Years teacher for many years and found that I was working with increasing numbers of children with speech and language needs e.g. difficulties understanding simple instructions, limited vocabulary. I needed to find a way of meeting the needs of several children in one group activity which was still fun and engaging and didn’t feel like ‘therapy’ sessions. And so the TeachTalk sessions were born! Fun activities based on favourite and familiar themes which could be easily adapted to incorporate the needs of several children.

This is a digital journal based on the new DfE ‘My Activity Passport’. This version includes the suggested activities for Reception Class. It enables teachers (and parents/carers ) to easily and creatively record, display and celebrate children taking part in the suggested activities. It also allows for additional/different activities to be included and for photos of children taking part in the activites at home with their families to be uploaded.
The digital journal is fully interactive meaning that photos and text can be quickly added and is so simple to fill that even the youngest children can add to the pages.
There are links added to take users quickly and easily to selected pages when filling or viewing the passport.
There is step-by-step guidance within the passport showing how additional or duplicate pages can be added in order to personalise it eg by using different types of backing paper pages. Adding or duplicating pages also means that a single passport can be used flexibly eg for an individual child, for a small group of children or even for a full class.
You will be sent the passport as a PDF file which can then be used on an iPad using an app such as GOODNOTES which enables you to use the clickable links and to annotate using a Stylus. You will then be able to add handwritten notes, captions and add extra creative touches as demonstrated in the video. It is also possible to use without a stylus, adding text from your ipad keyboard. (Alternatively you can be sent the passport as a PowerPoint presentation which also enables the links to work and for the passport including added photos and text to be displayed to a wider audience such as in a school assembly or on an interactive whiteboard- for this version, please select the Powerpoint resource in my shop)
