Creative introduction to the ballad using images inspired by the poem. Ideal for the first lesson when students have no prior knowledge of the poem. In groups, give out the different images. They create the 'backstory' behind the image - as creatively as possible! Then each group presents their story idea in front of their image (which can be projected via the PowerPoint). This could be followed by a prediction activity of how all the images might fit together.
