OCR Physics magnetism + electromagnetism

6 Resources
A bundle of lessons covering sections 6.3.1, 6.3.2 and 6.3.3 of the OCR Physics specification- magnetisms and electromagnetism. The lessons cover: Magnetic fields Flemings left and right hand rules The motion charged particles Magnetic flux Magnetic flux linkage e.m.f Faraday’s law and Lenz’s law The uses of electromagnetic induction The lessons include a starter, full notes, various student led activities and a differentiated summary at the end. All answers are included. I actively try to reduce photocopying, so all of the lesson resources are within the PowerPoint rather than as extra sheets.

A complete lesson covering parts of the AQA trilogy and Physics topic 1- Energy. It covers: Energy transfers Energy stores Specific heat capacity required practical Kinetic energy Elastic potential energy GPE Efficiency Energy resources Includes lots of exam questions All answers included Also incldues the 2022 version of this PPT with some tasks on the national grid and power

Using the specific heat capacity equation

(0)
A complete lesson teaching students how to use the specific heat capacity equation. It starts by posing a number of questions about pairs of substances being heated leading students to the idea that it relies on the mass of the substance, the type of substance and the amount of energy provided. It the goes through how to use the equation following the I do, we do, you do model. The calculations are set out using the model I introduced at my school which is designed to support students with rearranging the more difficult equations The lesson includes a starter, full notes, worked examples and independent student activities. All answers provided

OCR Physics charge particles and magnetic fields

This is a complete lesson covering sections 6.3.2 a, b and c of the OCR Physics specification- the effect of magnetic fields on moving charged particles. It goes through how to calculate the force on a moving particle as well as an explanation of why the path is likely to be curved. It also covers how to calculate the curvature of the pathway as well as some application questions asking students to predict the effect of changes on the curvature. The lesson finished with introducing velocity selectors and how they work including the necessary calculations. This links magnetic and electric fields The lesson includes a starter, full notes, various student led activities and a differentiated summary at the end All answers are included I actively try to reduce photocopying, so all of the lesson resources are within the PowerPoint rather than as extra sheets

OCR Physics Astrophysics and cosmology

4 Resources
A bundle of 4 lessons covering all the specification points in OCR Physics section 5.5 - cosmology and astrophysics- Stars Electromagnetic radiation from stars Wein’s law and Stefan’s law Hubble constant Cosmology Doppler effect The big bang theory All answers are included I am to reduce photocopying so all resources (except one) are in the PPT
OCR Physics stellar spectrum, radiation + luminosity

OCR Physics stellar spectrum, radiation + luminosity

(0)
A complete lesson covering sections 5.5.1e and 5.5.3 a-k of the OCR Physics specification- stellar radiation and luminosity and stellar spectrum. It starts by looking at the way that objects produce electromagnetic radiation and the link to temperature. It then looks at Wien’s displacement law and Stefan’s law including calculations and comparisons of luminosity and temperature. It then move son to look at spectra and how electrons produce photons of light after being excited. It then closes by looking at the difference between emission and absorption spectrum and how they can be sued to analyse stars. Includes lots of independent activities All answer included I aim to reduce photocopying so all resources are in the PPT- 49 slides in total
OCR Physics the big bang theory + Doppler effect
atdewaratdewar

OCR Physics the big bang theory + Doppler effect

(0)
A complete lesson covering sections 5.5.3 d-o of the OCR Physics specification- the big bang theory, the cosmological principle, the Doppler effect and red shift. The lesson starts by covering the Doppler effect in sound and how this also applies to red shift in light. It the covers how this and CMBR act as evidence for the origins of the universe in the big bang. It covers the Hubble constant, how its value is not exact and how it can be sued to estimate the age of the universe. The lesson closes by looking at the events immediately following the big bang and how the universe is believed to have changed. The lesson includes lots of calculations and multiple student activities All answers are provided I aim tor educe photocopying so all resources are within the PPT- a total of 50 slides
