Powers starter / plenary test
10 question with ten seconds for each, each question is a number raised to another number answers at the end
Goldbach Starter
A simple slide introducing Goldbach conjecture and asking students to try to express numbers 5-50 as product of 3 primes, can be used as starter or plenary.

Algebraic Simplification Test
A little test on algebraic simplication, includes factorising, index laws and algebraic fractions

Easy to use starter. 5 slides with 3 by 3 number grids. Students have to start at the top get to the number at the bottom using any of the 4 operations. Hints appear after a click. 3 puzzles on each grid.

Set of cards with numbers. Students have to try and split them into 4 groups. Groups are primes, squares, cubes, triangular numbers, might be more interesting to not tell them the four groups andd see what they come up with first.

A powerpoint showing expressions being multiplied and divided, students have to work out whats going on.

ten quick questions on multiplication of teens, 10 seconds for each question, answers at the end.

6 questions for students to try to estimate answers for, tried to make them as odd as possible to get them talking. Make nice starters to wake them up and get them thinking
