A 34 page presentation telling the story of Romeo and Juliet. It is an adaptation of Shakespeare’s play, suitable for ages 7 to 11. It could be used as part of a lesson or for an assembly. Also perfect for using during Shakespeare Week.

This is a plan for an assembly about why we shouldn’t always follow the crowd, with a focus on William Shakespeare’s play ‘Romeo and Juliet’. There is a PowerPoint included that tells the story of Romeo and Juliet. The plan is easy to follow and requires no resources, so is perfect for using at the last minute! I like leading assemblies that are interactive, engaging and relevant to the children’s lives. This is Blossoming Minds’ second set of 10 PowerPoints to help prepare your class for the Phonics Screening Check. Each PowerPoint includes 40 words, one on each slide. 20 words are pretend or ‘alien’ words and 20 are real words. They are organised in the same way as the screening check, starting with four simple phase 2 words, before moving on to phase 3, 4 and 5 and concluding with more complex words. Get your class to call out together or choose targeted children to decode the words.
