Another FULL Micro:bit lesson. I actually used the spare devices supplied by the BBC to deliver this lesson for Year 6 induction recently. Equally ideal for year 7 or 8 ICT/Computing groups. The PowerPoint, handout and attached code get the students to program a decision maker on their Micro:bit device. So, when shook, the device provides a random answer to the question the student asks - quite fun! Everything needed, including extra challenges to stretch the top end or step by step support for lower ability groups. A review of the lesson objectives at the end is also included. Everything you need to teach Sole traders and teach it well - perfect for an observation. Differentiated learning outcomes included on the presentation. The presentation would also be useful printed as some stage for revision for your learners. The two activities include sorting advantages and disadvantages of sole trader ownership and an extended writing question. The lesson includes marking sheets that have space to match the work completed in this lesson to success criteria and space to give WWW and EBi (gap task). This really is value for money. Instructions for teachers on how to create and use look up tables within Excel to calculate grades from scores automatically. Equally, you might use these instructions when teaching this skill to students. I hope these instructions are fairly straight forward. I used Excel 2013 for the print screens, though the skill is similar in whatever Excel version is being used. Great for staff training. ALL staff should know how to do this to save time when tracking data. Enjoy!

A quick and easy starter activity. Students need to name the parts of a computer (leading to my lesson on input, output or storage devices which is also available in my resources). Enjoy!

This activity gets students to complete a profit and loss account for the fictional, Barmy Burgers. Students must use all the data on the handout to complete the various activities. This is part of a differentiated task - there are three handouts which you might give to all students to complete in succession, or group students based on ability. If basing on ability, this is not the most challenging of the activities.

This is a four page booklet designed for GCSE Business Studies to introduce Working Capital. Students must first (on page 2) decide whether each item is an asset or liability and whether the assets are fixed or current and the liabilities are long-term or current. On page 3 they review what assets and liabilities are. On page 4 they must write the formula for working capital (Current Assets - Current Liabilities) and then calculate in an exam style question.
