This is a series of listening questions/ exercises modelled on past listening exams from AQA, but not using the same material. It covers foundation and higher, as well as the crossover questions. It focuses on the techniques that AQA relies on for asking questions and therefore gets students to practise the type of questioning they will face in the exam; this is often different from practice exercises found in textbooks. These listening exercises include recognition of tenses in both the materials and the questions, assimilation of concepts through vocabulary etc. This also uses the high frequency vocabulary that AQA relies on for more generic matters such as idioms for opinions and so on.
There is a PowerPoint, which can be used on its own as it has the questions on slides, followed by the answers and then the transcript for each exercise. Alternatively, students can use the exam sheet that is included, and the listening exercises can be played from the PowerPoint, but students do not then need to see the PP.
This is a set of 28 question cards and 28 answer cards to get your pupils speaking to each other in German and great to use as starters for target language practice. They include questions about name age, likes, favourites, preferences, family, daily routine, and many more.
These fun colourful cards can be printed and cut into individual question and answer cards to be used in several different ways, depending on the ability and confidence of your students:
Both question and answer cards can be given to students in pairs to practice a conversation. (Easier level)
Question cards only given to pairs to practice a conversation. Students will need to form their own answers. (Middle level)
Students are only given the answer cards and need to use these to form the relevant questions. (Harder level)
It is essential that pupils can ask questions (not just answer them). Regular practice of these question and answer sessions will allow them to get used to asking questions and be able to formulate further questions independently.

Each word/phrase comes on to the screen one at a time and all vocabulary is in French only. The vocabulary in quite a random order, as it would be to pupils when they hear or read texts in the listening and/or reading exams. It is really useful to recap what vocabulary they know, and then get pupils to record vocabulary that is new to them. You can then go back next lesson to those slides to confirm what they have retained. It can also be use in a competitive way, in teams to see which team knows the most vocabulary. However you use it, it covers a very wide range of essential vocabulary, a key to successful revision at GCSE level.
