This is a step-by-step guide to using possessive adjectives in French. The PowerPoint slides can be used for pupils to record grammar notes in their books about the use of possessive adjectives. There are 37 slides and it goes through all possessive adjectives and there are lots of exercises to complete as you go through to check comprehension. Exercises include gap fill, reading comprehension and translations. There is a worksheet that accompanies the PowerPoint and a second worksheet that pupils could work on individually, in class or for homework.

This grammar sorting challenge is a whole class team game to revise and/ or check pupils’ understanding of grammatical terms. In teams pupils are given a large set of French words and each term must work together to attach each of their words to one of the 8 posters that are stuck up around the classroom with the following headings: Conjugated Verbs, Infinitives, Nouns, Subject Pronouns, Articles, Adjectives, Connectives and Time Phrases. Only one team member is allowed to be out of their seat at any one time. There is a PowerPoint slide to show the challenge on the board and it has a sound document attached - this is a timed challenge and pupils have only the length of the song to complete the challenge. At the end, teams are scored by the correct number of words they have under the appropriate grammatical headings. Each team has their words in a different colour font and therefore you can easily identify to which team the words belong. I have also included a further explanation document with this resource. For the new GCSE exams, pupils will be expected to understand all Spanish exam rubrics. This PowerPoint goes through all rubrics needed, starting with understanding the main verbs, commonly used words and then through to whole instructions in Spanish. This ensures that over the two-year GCSE course, students have been exposed to all essential vocabulary. This document is in a printable friendly format for students or can be stored as a computer document for them. The vocabulary comes from the AQA specifications, but contains some extras, particularly in the topics of: technology, social issues and global issues. Students can also be encouraged to use this vocabulary when working individually.

The first Power Point gives a step-by-step guide to understanding and forming the imperfect tense. The PowerPoint can be used for pupils to makes notes from in order to form accurate grammar/ resource notes in their books, which they can then refer back to when working individually to form the imperfect tense. On the PowerPoint, there is a whole range of different exercises to complete to allow lots of practice and also to check comprehension. The second PowerPoint is to show the use of both perfect and imperfect tense verbs within sentences and texts. Again, there are lots of exercises for pupils to complete to check comprehension and there is a worksheet to accompany the PowerPoint. The exercises on both Power Points include translation and photo cards to describe, which are in line with the new GCSE specifications.

This resource is a comprehensive pack to ensure students can understand and successfully form the pluperfect tense. There are two lengthy Power Points, which will take several lessons in order for pupils to grasp and successfully conjugate the pluperfect tense of avoir verbs, both regular and irregular, as well as all être verbs, including reflexives. The Power Points can be used for pupils to use or copy to form accurate grammar/ resource notes in their books, which they can then refer back to when working individually to form this tense. On each PowerPoint there are lots of exercises for pupils to complete to check comprehension. The exercises are mainly translation, which are in line with the new GCSE specifications. There are worksheets to accompany each PowerPoint. There is also a further worksheet to complete after the two Power Points and this is aimed at higher tier students.

Easily adaptable for home learning. There is a fairly lenghtly GCSE text about holiday preferences, giving the advantages and disadvantages of seaside and also mountainside holidays. The accompanying worksheet has a wide range of activities to complete, both directly related to the text and activities just related to the theme. Activities include vocabulary exercises, translation, comprehension and answering questions relevant to parts of the new specifications speaking and writing exams.

Easily adaptable for home learning. There is a GCSE reading comprehension based on France's internal governmental proposals to current environmental issues. With the text there is a vocabulary match exercise, questions to answer in English and questions to answer in French. The second document has an extensive list of environment related vocabulary and phrases followed by translation exercises.

This is a booklet that can be printed for each student and contains over 150 general conversation questions. These questions have put together by researching all exam boards specifications and example materials. The questions are in themes are also broken down into sub-themes. Within each set of questions in a sub-theme, they have been classified into tenses so that pupils can be clear of the tense they need to use to answer the relevant question. These can form the basis of regular classroom practice for the speaking exam and if pupils are confident with these questions, they will also be able to answer many of the questions that will form part of the photo card section of the exam.

Based on the new specifications of exam boards for German GCSE, I have produced 40 different photo cards, all have 5 questions. The range of questions covers both foundation and higher tiers. The cards cover all 3 themes and all sub-themes. The questions are based on information/ specifications/ sample materials from several exam boards. They can be used over many lessons for practising this part of the exam and/or as part of mock exams.
