Hello All, Within this resource you will be able to access a practical designing DNA SoL with: 1 x SoL 1 x Assessment with grade boundaries 6 x Fully prepared PowerPoint lessons Additional Resources Within this unit of work, students will learn how to create a range of characters using the core physical and vocal skills. Students will learn how to use rehearsal techniques to form their understanding of their characters motives, personality traits and physical traits. Students will also learn how to navigate a script and how to stage a script on a proscenium arch stage understanding the stage positions. This unit of work furthermore builds each student’s confidence and enjoyment in performing and shows them how to use their performance space effectively to get the most out of each rehearsal and session. Hello All, Within this resource you will be able to access a practical designing DNA SoL with: 1 x SoL 1 x Assessment with grade boundaries 6 x Fully prepared PowerPoint lessons Handouts and Homework tasks Within this unit of work students will learn about the four central design principles (set design, costume design, lighting design and sound design). They will learn about how designers use core design principles within their industry to enhance performance and will be given opportunities to use the principles in practice. Students will also learn how to evaluate their use of design principles and learn how to describe how they could improve their use of design principles. This unit will culminate in a set design project where students will work in pars to create their own set design through the use of a shoebox theatre, and both describe and explain their use of set design principles in a speech to the class. Hello All, Within this resource you will be able to access a practical melodrama SoL with: 1 x SoL 7 x Fully prepared PowerPoint lessons 1 x Assessment feedback sheet All handouts that go with the lessons. This scheme of learning has been designed to prepare students for the Scripted Performances unit of GCSE Drama. Students will focus on developing their physical and vocal acting skills in the correct performance style, interpreting a character and being able to communicate that to the audience without getting “Stuck in the script” and also eliciting the expectation of learning lines for a performance so that doesn’t come as a surprise during KS4. They will also understand the importance of historical / social context when preparing a performance and the influence that has on style. This is a two part SoL with the rehearsal and performance elements following in the next SoL. Hello All, Within this resource you will be able to access a practical creating tension SoL with: 1 x SoL 8 x Fully prepared PowerPoint lessons Within this SoL, Students will develop skills they need for the devising unit of GCSE Drama. They will learn about various devising techniques and acting skills with specific focus on character creation in the style of Stanislavski. The focus will be on creating a believable performance that invokes empathy from the audience. They will develop an understanding of how to structure and develop a devised performance. They will develop their use of proxemics to communicate plot, character relationships and subtext with an audience and they will learn about the relevance of practitioners (in this case Stanislavski) in helping to create a piece of devised drama through the use of their ideas and exercises. They will develop their skills in writing about how they develop a piece of drama in the style of the devising unit written work (part 2).
