A set of worksheets I designed to help children practice using a dictionary. The first few letters are correct and children have to find the words in the dictionary, listing the page number at which they find them and correcting their spelling.
(Tip, make sure you have a set of the same dictionary types for this!)
Also…
-KS2 Scheme.
-A list of the ‘100 most common mis-spelt words’ that I found and edited from the internet.
UPDATE: Lots of other worksheets to use for example using a thesaurus and homophones
I have bullet pointed a few ideas I had to use iMovie in the classroom. Although these were written with a mac in use, many of the ideas could be used with iMovie on the iPad or a similar video editing program. Please leave a comment if you find this useful.
Lesson Plans for teaching the area of Calligrams / Shape poetry. Ideal for year 3/4.
I have also included a set of resources for use in the genre.
Reduced price.
Massive update to my highly popular resource…
Found these really hard to find so made my own resources up.
I am unsure why they are so scarce as they often come up in SAT tests etc.
As I like to call them 'missing box sums’
I have included differentiated worksheets and a smart notebook file to accompany the lesson worksheets.
Great for years 3/4 possibly lower ability year 5.
UPDATE: Feb 2018: due to the popularity of the previous version of this resource I have added a additional content similar in nature, for example, 'the role of the equals sign.'
At this age it is important that children understand (leading onto later years and algebra etc) that ‘Equals’ doesn’t mean ‘the answer’ but is a BALANCE of two equations.
There is a lesson plan included here as well I used for an observation during a Numeracy lesson on the topic.
Powerpoint to aid teaching about David Hockney including photos of some of his work.
Made personally, initially used with 9 year olds although could easily be adapted for older.
I have also included a Powerpoint with information about him.
NEW October, 2015

A weekly plan I made for use with these resources
A pdf. that can be printed out to make an enormous picture of his Artwork 'splash' on separate A4 pieces and put together like a jigsaw for display.
On the UK site this resource is rated extremely highly 4.7 / 5 with reviews from users.
I have included it at a lower price here for a short introductory period, enjoy!
Pupils must write the names of the bones (written to match up) next to the corrent location on the skeleton.
This can easily be differentiated by not giving higher ability pupils the list of bones to match up.

Perfect for a staff or work event. (No unsuitable material for children, but more aimed at adults.)
A set of differentiated worksheets I made where children have to add the two numbers below to get the final brick of the top of the pyramid.
The harder worksheets require inverse operations. Fantastic for an activity relating to how additional and subtraction are linked, or reinforcing the concept.
A collection of connectives useful for general story writing as opposed to the usual humdrum words,
For example...

With each step...
When they looked back...
and lots more!

A document for parents and pupils to sign. Invaluable for E-Safety and security. Editable as I have included my word version of the document. Has gone down well with many schools.
This is a snippet from the top of the document...
Parents / Carers play a crucial role in ensuring that their children understand the need to use the internet / mobile devices in an appropriate way. Research shows that many parents and carers do not fully understand the issues and are less experienced in the use of ICT than their children. The school will therefore take every opportunity to help parents understand these issues through parents’ evenings, newsletters, letters, website / VLE and information about national / local e-safety campaigns / literature. This agreement is aimed at fostering that approach.
Invaluable and guaranteed to save you time.
NB: This resource is now 1/4 of the price it originally started at and still has some outstanding unique content included.
A very high quality resource.
This is a 32 slide Powerpoint, including videos and high quality unique animations around the subject of Growth-Mindset designed for presentation to staff and parents alike. Many parts are also suitable for children themselves especially the videos.
Uniquely designed and produced my myself and an extremely reputable colleague for use at inset in school, who has now gone on to advise in this area. As we designed this resource collaboratively I am lucky enough to be able to post these particular elements here.
I have also included slide handouts and and a Mac / Keynote / iPad version of the resource, which also has embedded video files. Note the keynote version of the resource has additional special effects for Mac / OS/ iPad users.
Perfect for the introduction or refresh of ‘Growth-Mindset’ in schools and won’t have been seen anywhere!
I have included some of the research videos we used as part of our project.
