This is a great modelled text to inspire children to write their own version of the story through a wise men. It includes a range of questions from literal, to inferential to vocab focused. There are also three follow up tasks for learners to complete. This resource also links well to my Story of the Wise Men Writing piece where learners have to rewrite the story through the eyes of one of the wise men.

This powerpoint goes over the key teaching points about Chinese New Year and the different traditions involved in it. It then explains the Chinese Zodiac and allows the children to see which animal they are. It then goes on to explain the characteristics of someone from the Year of the Snake. At the end there are examples of different tasks the learners could complete. These could set or learners could be allowed to choose. You could also complete these as a series of rotational stations.
