This is a resource that can be used with a range of pupils and contexts but was produced to teach to the top (Y12 very able cohort in a University Preparation week). Aimed at PSHE, RSE and Citizenship in KS4, but could be used with upper KS3 or with KS5. PPT containing 21 slides ready to go for a teacher to cover FGM / FGC / female circumcision assuming no prior knowledge. Includes: FGM is based on myths debunking main myths & misconceptions around FGM/FGC prominence and communities most affected UK law on FGM/FGC, including taking someone abroad to perform the procedure activity where students sort statements into facts vs. myths support available for survivors and to help prevent FGM/FGC Should take at least 50 minutes so comfortably fits 60 or 75 minute lesson. Lesson of 11 PPT slides going through 7 natures / qualities of Allah for Islam/Muslims. Designed specifically for AQA GCSE Religious Studies A but could be used for KS3 or KS4, and Edexcel/OCR exam boards. Students have information on Allah to copy (slide 1) then lesson scaffolds how to explain one quality (immanence). After that, remaining 6 slides one-by-one give qualities of Allah, influences on Muslims, key quotes & inferences/meanings of each quote. 45-60 minutes as lesson or revision lesson.
