This multisensory resource is part of a presentation for teachers and other adults looking to increase their knowledge to support students, young, teenagers and adults with reading and writing difficulties. There are many teachers and parents willing to work to support struggling readers but lacking the materials and "know how!" This is a packet that includes four mini lessons per grade level, beginning at kindergarten through sixth grade. Lessons include a focus on: vowel sounds; syllable type; syllabication; spelling rule/generalization; and prefixes, suffixes (grades 2 onward); reading fluency practice and writing. Each lesson includes the writing pages for student to write the dictated words you provide (included in each lesson) and for writing their own "personal sentences. This is a multisensory PDF resource designed for students that are developing reading comprehension and understanding of math terms. If you are looking for worthwhile resource that will help students develop math and science terminology and increase reading skills this is the resource. Words that are included in this resource that support math: sector; cross-section; bisector; dissection; mid-section; bisectors -to name a few! This multisensory resource focuses on the science Greek roots, "equi," and "equ." This is a great resource for students learning geometry. The knowledge gained from understanding the meaning of equi, equ brings students to "a higher understanding," which then helps make a stronger connection learning geometric shapes that are equilateral. This is a multisensory resource that includes a variety of methods to support student internalization of the meaning of "equi, equ, the Greek roots. Teachers and parents can determine the specific pages a student completes - very helpful for a class of diverse students academically. This is a cross curricular multisensory resource. This resource is a study guide template where you can make changes on the document. Please be sure to save the original resource. The reason for the creation of this resource was to support students who, based on IEP requirements, are provided with study guides. The problem with many study guides is that only the concepts being tested are provided. Students with 504 Plans, ESL/ELL students and classified students are typically developing foundational skills, unlike some of their peers. There is nothing more important then developing key skills like inferencing, predicting, and the ability to apply new concepts with prior knowledge to make "connections." This study guide provides a way to continue to develop the high order thinking skills, not just providing test material. In the end, many students who use study guides to memorize will not recall or lack the ability to communicate the essence of concepts from previous weeks. Therefore, this multisensory tool is a method to continue to develop skills without requiring additional time outside the class or home. This training packet is designed to provide examples of a multisensory lesson of the following: short vowels; consonants; consonant blends; consonant digraphs; long vowels; vowel diphthongs; compound words; schwa; inflected endings; prefixes; roots; suffixes; syllable types; spelling generalizations/rules and accent rules for participants use with their small and/or large classroom settings. Teachers will use multisensory strategies and better develop reading and writing skills, along with development of working memory; processing speed; vocabulary and writing skills. Each grade level includes at least three skill areas that can be used immediately in classes, small groups, or for tutoring sessions. This is a time-saving- just print and go - PDF resource with over 225 pages complete with words lists; word phrases; and sentences. This resource is designed to provide teachers and parents with premade lists for reading fluency practice for post skill presentations. This is not a resource that includes skills lessons, but as a supplemental resource to continue practice with reading fluency. Students using this resource should have already been instructed in the following skills: consonants, short vowels; vowel teams; vowel diphthongs; -ck; fszl; -tch; -dge; compound words (closed); R-Controlled Vowels; Vce and spelling generalizations. This resource provides phrase practice of small phrases (up to 4 words) and longer phrases (five or more) so students can practice reading fluency. Know the Code: Coding Words for Identification & Meaning This is a free PDF document that focuses on the "basics" of coding unknown, or unfamiliar words. Too many students lack the basic knowledge of the different types of syllables. The syllables include: closed; open; Vowel Consonant "e," Bossy "R," Vowel Teams, Diphthongs, and Consonant - le (c-le). Once students know the code, identifying words becomes less anxiety-ridden, helping students to read words without having to ask another person.
