These PPTs are useful for lesson introductions about Area and Perimeter in KS2 maths. They can be used to demonstrate examples and calculation methods.
To introduce area and perimeter you want to first start by choosing one skill to teach at a time. I usually start with area because you can relate it to multiplication which is one of the skills we do just before area and perimeter.
PPT1 - Area- A little panda character runs through the method of finding the area of a shape by first counting squares and then by using WxL multiplication method. You can unlock the panda and remove to reveal Santa if your lesson coincides with Christmas. This PPT also contains differentiated worksheets which you can print off.
PPT 2 - Perimeter- The same little panda helps you to go through how to calculate the perimeter of shapes in very simple steps.
These 2 PPTs are useful for KS2/ Year 4 Science topic of Hearing and Sound. They can also be incorporated into KS1 topics where relevent.
PPT - The Ear LO: To recognise sounds and where they come from. This PPT shows animated GIFs of how a sound wave travels and how it gets from the sound source to the outer and inner ear and then to the brain. It can be edited if needed to block out any of the labels that aren’t relevent.
PPT 2 is a “Guess The Sound” quiz to test how children can differentiate between different sounds. It contains sound clips with the correct answer to follow. Children find this lots of fun.

These 2 PowerPoints are intended for Year 1/2 History topic on Homes.

This is a 2 week cycle of reading for year 2, complete with PPT planning, lesson by lesson slides with accompanying comprehension questions and resources day by day. The unit starts with text annotation. The story is analysed page by page with vocabulary defined for each page. Children can answer questions on the slides together and then in their books. There is partner practice and opportunities to write summaries and a brief diary entry. This is very prescriptive and detailed and will be a life saver for those covering this story.
