Adjectives: The first hand out explains how to make adjectives agree in gender and in number and also gives examples. It is a two page word document and is appropriate for all levels. The second document is an exam (could also be used as a class activity or as homework) and has two sections; first section is a simple French to English translation and second section is a grid in which students must write out the adjectives in feminine and plural form. Also attached is a worksheet in which students must insert the correct form of the adjective in each sentence and then translate each sentence. Could also be used as an exam.

An 18 slide PPT which explains The Greenhouse Effect and Global Warming. Suitable for junior students. Explains how the Greenhouse Effect is a natural occurance. Discusses the causes of global warming and possible solutions. Contains some cartoon illustrations, diagrams and links to 2 YouTube videos- one short clip from the National Geographic and another animated cartoon to facilitate visual learners. Also attached is a think-pair-share graphic organiser, used to introduce the topic, as well as a cloze test on the topic, which I use as an in-class assesment that is peer-corrected. The to-do slide at the end of the PPT directs students to the Geoplanet workbook by EDCO. This can be adapted to suit your own book.

An 80 slide PPT based on 'Ma maison'. Aimed at HL Junior students or Ordinary level senior students. A different way to present key vocab. Each slide is colour coded (blue/pink/green) to convey the gender/number of the noun. Each slide also has a photo and a word. There are a couple of activity slides too e.g. write a paragraph about your house, work in pairs to orally describe the bedroom in the photo etc... Also attached is a comprehension with English questions which can be used at the end of the PPT presentation in class/for HW etc... A gapfill exercise on the subject of TikTok and it’s popularity. Once gapfill is completed, students can use the text as a comprehension and answer the comprehension questions in English. This is followed by a grammar exercise where students must find different types of words in the text. Once complete and corrected, the text can be used as notes for opinon pieces on technology/social media.

Finally mentions Irish soils and discusses brown soils and podzol soils in detail. Contains some ‘to do’ and homework slides which can be adapted to suit the class/curriculum. A theme based ‘production écrite’ worksheet on refereeing. Includes a worksheet for students and the answer sheet for teachers. I started this activity using the key vocab listed - students had to work in pairs to translate and categorise the words (nouns/adjectives/verbs). They then had to use the vocab and prior knowledge to translate the sentences, all of which can be used for an opinion piece on this topic. Suitable for a Higher Level Leaving Cert/A level class.
