A hand out with statements based on alcohol which is very useful for answering opinion pieces in French. Could also be used for preparing advanced students for oral exam. Word document.
Two worksheets based on ‘La Météo’- The French Weather Forecast.
Each worksheet has a map of France and a simple weather forecast. Students work in pairs to read the description written on their page to their partner. Their partner must listen carefully and draw weather symbols/temperatures etc on the weather map on their own page. Then swap roles.
This activity allows the students to practice their oral skills as well as their listening skills. It also allows them to practice key weather phrases and compass points in French.
For a PPT with weather phrases and corresponding pictures, see ‘My Shop’.
A worksheet based on Belgian singer/songwriter Angele.
The worksheet begins with a short comprehension followed by English questions. This gives an overview of her life and how she got into music.
Second exercise is based on her song ‘Tout Oublier’. Students must watch the music video and put the images from the video in the correct order.
Finally, there are selected words from the lyrics of the song and students must catagorize the words e.g. an adverb, a past participle, an infinitive verb etc…
I use this resource with my TY classes as Angele is very current. Beware… Some of her music is explicit! Song chosen is OK for class.

Slide 2 is based on air masses and weather systems. It has 22 slides, plenty of images, links to animations, homework exercises and class activities. The ocean current PPT has 9 slides and includes a think-pair-share activity as well as 2 recap questions.
The final PPT is based on wind and the coriolis effect. There are 15 slides, a link to an animation and plenty of images. There are 2 activities incorporated into this PPT and again, they can be adapted or of course deleted.

There are lots of images/diagrams/video clips embedded into each ppt. Some slides direct students to homework/‘to-do’ tasks. The book I refer to is ‘Geography in Action’ (textbook and activity book). These slides can of course be adapted to suit your own class/textbook.

Includes some simple geography based activities (match the flag to the country/name the European country) and some vocab activities (translating key football vocab and categorising vocab). Also includes a diary entry question. A good ‘back to school’ activity for a strong 3rd year class, TYs or 5th years.
A ‘find someone who’ activity which can be used to get to know a new class or to facilitate active learning, group work, to get the students moving around the class. Great activity for getting students speaking en français.
A theme based ‘production écrite’ worksheet on refereeing. Includes a worksheet for students and the answer sheet for teachers.
I started this activity using the key vocab listed - students had to work in pairs to translate and categorise the words (nouns/adjectives/verbs). They then had to use the vocab and prior knowledge to translate the sentences, all of which can be used for an opinion piece on this topic.
Suitable for a Higher Level Leaving Cert/A level class.
