These are all my resources for teaching Curious Incident, the play version, for AQA English Literature. There are over 100 resources in this bundle, all are broken into sections of the play, with self-starters, presentations, differentiated activities and assessments. Could be taken and adapted or could be used completely as it is for teachers of this course.
A list of over 100 quotations from Curious Incident, the play version. Organised by character they are spoken by or relevant to, including stage directions.
This is a scanned copy of my annotated version of The Yellow Wall-Paper, it is highlighted with key quotations and annotated for analysis, themes, interpretations and technical terms. It allows a student/teacher to work through and use the analysis in their teaching or own work. I use it for the NEA section of AQA English Literature A spec.
This is a revision sheet summarising Act 1 of Romeo and Juliet for students. It includes all scenes in Act 1 including the prologue. The sheet details the following things for each scene to allow students quick and easy revision: setting, plot, key characters' role and quotations, and allows space for them to link to themes.
This a booklet designed for teaching of The Help by Kathryn Stockett for A Level English Literature. It is specifically focused around the new AQA A spec, Texts in Shared Contexts - Modern Literature unit. This can be used by the teacher as a guide for lessons, or as a workbook for all students to progress through at their own pace.
These are my resources for helping students prepare for the Curious Incident (play version) question on the AQA English Literature paper. The cheat sheet is designed to narrow down the number of quotations students attempt to learn, and allow them to link quotations to multiple themes, and character questions, in order to overcome the fear of answering questions without the text or extract.
Together, both files contain 38 small quotations, and by memorising as many as possible of these, students will be able to access and answer any exam question they are faced with.
The first file is purely for Christopher, with the themes that can be related to his character and then the quotations that have been selected. The smaller boxes are where the students should revise that quote - reminding themselves of its context in the play, and putting some technical analysis. On the remaining pages there are larger boxes for students to make notes as to how each quotation links to different themes, perhaps writing some practice sentences and paragraphs to ensure they can link each one specifically. The second file is the same, but containing quotations for Ed, Judy, Siobhan and Stage Directions.
These are my resources for studying Chapter 4 of Jekyll and Hyde, there are self-starters, mini quizzes, analysis and summary tasks - all differentiated and with extension options. Should take 2-3 lessons depending on groups.
These are my resources for Jekyll and Hyde chapter 3 - Dr Jekyll was quite at ease. There are self starters, a presentation, a copy of the chapter to be used for the summary task and a creative response task. This section is planned to take 3-4 lessons, depending on if you want to give the students time to complete the diary entry in lesson time or for homework.
This is every resource I have used to work through chapter 1 of Jekyll and Hyde with my class. Could be used now without being changed. Work through the powerpoint slides in order and use the accompanying sheets accordingly.
These are my resources for looking at Juliet's key speech in Act 2 Scene 1. The resources include a starter activity based around Romeo's earlier speech (turning certain parts into chat up lines) then a powerpoint with differentiated tasks on to analyse Juliet's speech and the two characters' interactions. Also includes a model paragraph for showing to students.
These are revision sheets for 5/6 main characters in the play: Romeo, Juliet, Paris, Friar Lawrence and the Capulets. The revision sheets are broken into 4 squares, intended for students to use for either self or peer assessment, to allow them to identify areas of their knowledge where there are gaps. The areas covered are the character's plot-line, themes which link to the character, quotations from the character, and effect of certain moments on the audience.
These are my resources for chapter 5 of Jekyll and Hyde. There is an extract from the chapter and a series of questions and tasks to get students to work through at their own pace.
I have made a document for my students which lists the key quotations from the novel in chapter order. The document is 30 pages long, with quotations from all 28 chapters, as well as the foreword and epigraph.
This allows them to prioritise quotations for analysis and also to track key themes and motifs throughout the novel. I have also included my top 20 recommended quotations at the beginning.
There are resources here for teaching the entire Romeo and Juliet text. Every Act and Scene is dealt with via powerpoint presentation, with accompanying tasks, activities - all differentiated. There are also various revision materials for key characters, and a 25 page document which contains a table of quotations for each character with space to make notes.
