A resource for Dance students to write down keywords and their meanings. Has proved useful for learning subject specific terminology, such as the language of Ballet or GCSE Dance vocab.
Each page is dedicated to a letter of the alphabet so students can collect relevant key terms throughout their course.

Students should observe the professional work and complete the 2 theory tasks and 1 practical activity. The tasks in this worksheet should take approx. 2hrs to complete.
A booklet that students can fill out over 8 weeks to monitor their progress in developing flexibility. Ideal for the school closures over lockdown to visually monitor and log improvements that might have been otherwise interrupted by absence of face-to-face practical lessons.
The booklet asks students to update the document once a week with a photo of a front split and a butterfly split. Students are encouraged to stretch regularly in their own time to support progression.

A PowerPoint and worksheet that introduces students to Stage Directions. The resource has been created for GCSE Dance and BTEC Performing Arts students but also suitable for pupils studying Drama/Acting.
PowerPoint:
PowerPoint gives information on Stage Directions and includes a Quiz to test student knowledge.
Paddles:
A PDF of paddles are included to be cut out and laminated. These can be used to play ‘Guess the Stage Direction’ and ‘Stage Directions Swap’. (Instructions below and included on PowerPoint).
Worksheet:
A PDF worksheet allows students to write in the relevant StageDdirections on the template. This is to be used alongside the PowerPoint. The document also includes a page that can be used to play Naughts and Crosses with Stage Directions. (Partners use different coloured pens and write in the SD like they would do X/Os.)
'Guess the Stage Direction’
Teacher or student stands somewhere in the room. Participants hold up the relevant stage direction.
'Stage Directions Swap’
Each student has a paddle & has 5 seconds to find the correct placement in the room. Anyone incorrect is eliminated. Students then all come into the middle, and have another 5 seconds to randomly swap paddles and find their new placement.

The PowerPoint takes students through 9 key Theatre/Staging types and includes a Quiz to test student knowledge based on photos of performance spaces. Each slide uses a picture of the theatre, diagram of the staging, definition of theatre and benefits of using the theatre style.
Worksheet
The worksheet is to be used alongside the PowerPoint. Students can use the worksheet to make notes and can draw the diagram of the staging. The worksheet comes in 2 versions:
1 - PRINT version (for worksheets in school)
2 - EDITABLE version (so students can complete worksheets remotely in lockdown lessons).

A Choreography Project designed for lockdown lessons to be completed remotely. The booklet is designed for Yr8s but could be used for other year groups in KS3.
The resource will enable teachers to be able to deliver 4 lessons remotely which contains a booklet and 4 supplementary PowerPoints. The booklet enables students to complete 3 activities per lesson (combination of booklet and practical tasks).

Formation posters for Dance (groups of 3-12). Could also be used for Drama or Physical Education.
The formations offer 9 suggestions of formations that can be used for the specified group number. Also included is a printable title poster reading ‘Now Let’s Get in Formation’.
This has been invaluable over the years - it has been my most used resource by far! Students tend to rush over to the ‘formations wall’ as soon as their groups are allocated. Also a helpful resource for staff trying to organise performances for shows, competitons and assemblies.
