Looking for different ways to help students, I saw on Twitter the idea of a ladder reflecting elements needed for grades.
It starts with an easy present tense sentence and finishes with a sentence which includes an indirect object pronoun.
It can be used at the start of a lesson, to test how much students know on a particular subject or can be given as homework for students to work independently.
Content is based on Pearson Edexcel’s GCSE theme 1:
Who am I? (pages 1-7) = Relationships; when I was younger; what my friends and family are like; what makes a good friend; interests; socialising with friends and family; role models
Daily life (pages 8-11) = Customs and everyday life; food and drink; shopping; social media and technology (use of, advantages and disadvantages)
Cultural life (pages 12-16) = Celebrations and festivals; reading; music; sport; film and television

This document was created for my Year 10 and Year 11 students to practise further their vocabulary on the topic of new technologies (the internet, social networks, etc.). It gave them more confidence in their writing skills. It can be followed up with some English to Spanish translations and a free writing activity in class.
