This art unit is a brilliant way to introduce children to the essential drawing skills of mark making, sketching and key art terms. Children will complete a range of sketching activities using a range of different drawing tools, which will give the basis for fantastic art skills throughout the year. Children will also build their understanding of key vocabulary, such as pressure, cross-hatching, texture, monochrome, contrast, density, stippling and more. These lessons can be used in Year 1, Year 2 or a mixed Year One and Year Two class.
