Developed for an observation this lesson breaks down reflexive verbs making them more accessible. I have used this with HA Year 9 all the way up to GCSE and it always works well. I have even upped the challenge and used the same activities with my year 12 class. Lots of opportunities to better understanding of the difference between reflexive and standard indicative verbs with lots of practice, challenge and engagement.

Full lesson working on the full paradigm for SOLER to support the green foundation edexcel textbooks enabling LA or mixed classes to access the higher levels using formulas. Very accessible and has worked well with a range of abilities.

Specifically developed to address the 2 things which year after year stop students from accessing the 5+ I’ve used these worksheets as a starter with HA classes and adapted them to full lessons for LA and mixed groups.

Double sided a4 sheet Side 1 - the 3 time frames (Past, Present, Future) with regular verb endings for each tense within that category plus common irregulars, Time expressions which trigger that category, HL phrases and idioms) Side 2 - Opinion phrases, connectives, sequencing connectives, higher level structures for the grade 7+, Idiomatic expressions for the grade 7+ I’ve used this sheet year after year and it always enables students to access the 5+ and the top levels as it’s clear which tenses are in each time frame. The time expression triggers provide a good visual for students, too.

I have covered as much vocabulary as possible (including the majority of the vocab lists in the textbook) and all key grammar points including MA grammar such as subjunctive/ personal a. Theme 1 (ks3 revision/ family/ relationships/ free time/ customs and festivals) - over 45 activities Theme 2 (home and local area/ social and global issues including healthy eating/ travel and tourism) - over 85 activities Theme 3 (studies/ life at school/ post 16 options and future careers) - over 85 activities Key grammar - all 8 tenses, prepositions, personal a and 3rd person opinions, regular and irregular verbs practice in all tenses including irregular past participles, questions, connectives, time expressions, using different tenses simultaneously. Writing/ Speaking/ Creation structure tasks to improve fluency when developing ideas. **These are all original resources that have been developed over the course of the year and transformed into a4 booklets for my current year 11s. ** Could be used for remote learning, homeworks, or adapted to support lessons. Each unit consolidates key vocab, gives students several opportunities to practice the vocabulary and grammar in different contexts - and most importantly the activities vary greatly - meaning they’re not super dry! I have included all vocab from the vocab pages range of activities to revise/ consolidate vocab from this topic could be printed as revision tasks/ booklets or used as starters to recap vocab as you move through I often use starters to recap old topics then move on completely. Great care has been taken to ensure it looks sophisticated, it is challenging - and easy to use. animation and presentation of each activity is attractive and engaging.

I’ve put a lot of effort into these resource all vocab from unit 3 vocab pages covered in a variety of ways - 11 different tasks as stated above all have a consequent slide with fly in answers (exept one opinion task) range of activities, cognitively demanding, challenges on each slide so each one is differentiated would be good as starters or revision tasks
