The students are divided into As and Bs. Student As have a picture of a smart farm i.e. a farm which utilizes smart technology. Student Bs have a picture of a smart supermarket i.e. a supermarket which utilizes smart technology. Students first identify the vocabulary in their pictures before describing them to each other to identify differences. Students then work together to find examples of smart technology and speculate about what the purposes could be. The activity is concluded with some debate questions about the ramifications of smart technology for farmers, store owners, employees and customers.
