Lesson is aimed at getting students interested in the news by making it fun and interesting. Lesson asks students to think about the way they can access the news and why news is important. Students then watch and discuss the news before writing and presenting their own news report on a current topic. Aimed at KS3 students but can easily be adapted to suit older students. Differentiated using the GCSE mark scheme and aim/challenge/super challenge.

Each sheet asks students to plan a list of powerful vocabulary (challenge to find synonyms to improve their vocab choices), a list of language devices and a list of the senses.
