A creative writing lesson aimed to help students improve their use of adjectives and adverbs in their descriptive writing, Lesson involves short tasks, improving extracts and eventually a descriptive writing task. Differentiated using aim/challenge/super challenge and the GCSE mark scheme. Aimed at KS3 students but can also be used with KS4.

2 x lessons aimed at KS3 but can be used for KS4. Lessons include reading an extract from the GCSE text ‘A Christmas Carol’ and then completing descriptive writing tasks. Lessons are a nice way to keep lessons Christmas themed while still teaching important skills and introducing GCSE texts to younger students. All lessons differentiated using the GCSE mark scheme and aim/challenge/super challenge. All lessons planned using TEEP.

Differentiated using the GCSE mark scheme. Lesson involves students gathering information about the theatre and then writing from the perspective of someone at the theatre (choice based on ability.) Challenge task to include some archaic language.
