A great assembly all about space, aimed at ks2 or upper ks1.
It contains 2 songs and a dance with youtube links. Printable S-P-A-C-E lettering for the children to hold up in assembly. There is also an optional powerpoint, just add pictures of your kids or their artwork of the planets.
Enjoy, this is such a fun assembly which the kids and audience will LOVE!
This is a fun Vikings assembly from year 2 to 6. It has 2 songs with youtube links and one link to a Viking thunder clap which is very simple and my kids loved learning. It covers Viking weapons, clothing and Gods. I also put some costume suggestions at the back of the script which would definitely cover a couple of art and dt lessons too. There are so many opportunities for fun acting and miming in this script too depending on the ability of your class.
Hope you enjoy it!
A KS1 assembly retelling the story of ‘Giraffes Can’t Dance’ by Giles Andreae. One pupil acts as the narrator (thouh this can easily by edited to add more narrators), then there are 6 other speaking parts. Every other child will wear an animal mask and perform in a short dance. The assembly includes full script, ideas to encourage audience participation and links to 6 songs and actions.
I also used these dances to inform my PE lessons, the children loved this.
This is a FUN assembly for an active class and welcome break to memorizing lines.
Enjoy :)
Assembly script based on the ‘Twas the night before Christmas’ poem. The script comprises of 30 parts. It has 12 narrators and 18 acting parts involving a lot of mime or dance.
The script is extremely adaptable and funny.
The original poem was wordy so it’s been altered slightly and would be most suitable for year 3/P4 and anything right through secondary school.
If you wanted to adapt it for a younger class I would recommend giving the narrators the words to read on cards rather than learning them off.
Assembly all about the romans, involves a lot of acting and has a line for each child. My year 3 class really enjoyed this and the whole school were interested in Romans the rest of the week.
Approriate for y2-y6!
Enjoy :)
Class assembly/play script including song lyrics and links to songs/dance on youtube.
The script has a literacy link of fairytales, IPC theme of castles and introduces the idea of inner beauty for PSHE.
It is a comedy version of Sleeping Beauty, appropriate for year 2 to year 6.
My friend borrowed this for her y6 leavers assembly and they loved it!
This Julia Donaldson Assembly is appropriate for year2-year6/p3-p7. It involves a lot of dressing up as famous book characters and three songs. It was a lot of fun doing this assembly and encouraged not only my class but the whole school to love and desire to read Julia Donalson books. It also has links to these songs, lyrics, actions and a some costume suggestions.
Enjoy!
A rhyming assembly script about a little boy who keeps making mistakes in poetry. The script takes the boy into poetry land and explains what some poetic terms mean and allows the children to perform some poetry/songs.
Poems are included at the end of the script.
Appropriate for years 1 - year 4.
Enjoy!
This resource includes the script and 2 powerpoints for an assembly. Was originally for a year 5 class but can be adapted for any ks2 class.
The first powerpoint includes opportunities to add photos of your own class and some cross curricular lessons, such as mummifying apples in Science and Egyptian movement in PE.
The second powerpoint is a an ‘Egyptian’ version of Who Wants to be a millionaire. My school LOVED this assembly.
Enjoy :)
Hilarious and fun script all about Robin Hood and Nottingham. Written for KS2 and beyond.
Great to use as a class play or assembly based on a literacy topic.
Enjoy!
A list of ways to incorporate dance and drama into your curriculum; including a range of games, starters and books which have excellent cross curricular links. Can be adapted throughout the key stages.
Class assembly/play script linking the 80's topic to the classic Hansel and Gretel Tale. It has a comedy theme and was a great stimulus for writing alternative endings to the Hansel and Gretel story.
Appropriate for year 2 to year 6.
Enjoy-my kids loved this assembly and even made tie-dye t-shirts for their costumes (it covered both a science and art lesson).
6 Scripts included....Have your whole year's assemblies ready to go....no more stressing over every half term.
Links to songs and lyrics included.
Appropriate for year 2 -y 6.
Enjoy your free time!
A wonderful assembly all about the ancient Egyptians. It includes one song and links to it on youtube, one quiz done in the style of who wants to be a millionaire (all about the Egyptians) and one example power point to put in the background, including lots of ideas for ancient Egypts based lessons; mummifying apples in science, dance and movement and an example of a class display.
Enjoy!
In fact there are 2 slightly different version of the traditional stations of the cross assembly celebrated in church school. This includes a powerpoint, reflections and responses for those in the assembly.
Hope it saves you some time!
This assembly is based on the unit of work I completed with my class, therefore I’ve included a plan of what I completed throughout my lessons.
This was a great cross curricular topic and as you’ll see, I’ve included links to art and DT, literacy and ICT.
The assembly included an option between two songs and the words to a poem we performed.
There are also a number of templates to create jumping jacks, shadow puppets and zeotropes. The document marked zerotrope template was a great freebie from a childhood museum which has other ‘toy’ related worksheets and activities which I sent as homework.
I completed this summer term in a year 2 class, but to be hones at it is all about the work the children complete can really work from year 1 - 6.
We had such fun with this topic and assembly, I hope you do too!
Adaptable assembly script of the Biblical character Esther.
This script retells the story and involves a lot of acting out scenes of the story with a narrator. There are 30 parts with a range of abilities and an optional dance link and prayer at the end.
I actually used this resources during anti bullying week to highlight how my pupils should stand up for one another even when it’s really difficult to do so, but a friend used it simply for an RE assembly. Esther is a great book to focus on for similarities between Judaism and Christianity as both religions have it in their Holy book.
Appropriate for end of year 2 - year 6.
Enjoy :)
