I'm a tired teacher just like you; fighting to balance the importance of my own life with the fun and high level of education I want to give my students.
I hope these resources save you time so you can focus on the important things in life.

Example of write up and the evidence I used to show I had met each teaching standard while completing my teacher training.
Great to use for ideas while for your teacher training or performance management targets.
This is a fun Vikings assembly from year 2 to 6. It has 2 songs with youtube links and one link to a Viking thunder clap which is very simple and my kids loved learning. It covers Viking weapons, clothing and Gods. I also put some costume suggestions at the back of the script which would definitely cover a couple of art and dt lessons too. There are so many opportunities for fun acting and miming in this script too depending on the ability of your class.
Hope you enjoy it!
Class assembly/play script including song lyrics and links to songs/dance on youtube.
The script has a literacy link of fairytales, IPC theme of castles and introduces the idea of inner beauty for PSHE.
It is a comedy version of Sleeping Beauty, appropriate for year 2 to year 6.
My friend borrowed this for her y6 leavers assembly and they loved it!
Fun quiz with 4 rounds short rounds; 1. Lock down facts 2. Name That Celebrity 3.Happy Lock down Stories 4.Photo Challenge.
You can play this on zoom with your children, one round per day or all in one go. You could also use this a welcome back in assembly or with your class. It’s a fun, positive way to talk to the children about how our world has dealt with the current virus.
It was made for 5 primary use but is definitely suitable for secondary also.
Enjoy :)
Cut and laminate this chart to display at the front of your class. Children will quickly learn what noise level you expect within specific lessons. Great evidence of clear clear expectations within lesson observations.
A series of differentiated sentence building activities focused on word class. These include articles, adjectives, verbs, nouns, subjects, adverbs, conjunctions and prepositions. The aim of the activity is to encourage children to see patterns in word classes and how they are organised within a sentence.
This can be completed as self directed learning, in pairs, as an* assessment* or a homework. For my lower ability students I often print example sentences jumbled up and ask the children to sort the words into the correct classes using the table. For my* higher ability* I have let them take a sentence from a book, create table and then ask them to continue the pattern creating their own sentences. It is a great way to let the children play with words. They have even came in handy when creating plans for stories.
Enjoy!
A series of multiplication and division question divided into three levels of spice.
The questions have a common castles theme and are written in the same style found in KS1 SATs papers.
Appropriate to challenge y1, prepare y2 for SATs or to revise/assess early in y3.
A great assembly all about space, aimed at ks2 or upper ks1.
It contains 2 songs and a dance with youtube links. Printable S-P-A-C-E lettering for the children to hold up in assembly. There is also an optional powerpoint, just add pictures of your kids or their artwork of the planets.
Enjoy, this is such a fun assembly which the kids and audience will LOVE!
A really fun, interactive quiz is aimed at older children or to be used as an assembly on this special day. It’s got a range of information, photos and interesting facts. Everyone should learn a little more about Saint Patrick’s history and how celebrating him has changed over the years.
There are 3 rounds; 1. Saint Patrick Facts
2. True or False
3. Saint Patrick’s Day
Hope this activity saves you some time :)
A fun little powerpoint with very cheesy St. Patrick’s Day jokes. I would use this with the kids in my class as well as a whole school assembly.
Appropriate for year 2 and above :)
Assembly script based on the ‘Twas the night before Christmas’ poem. The script comprises of 30 parts. It has 12 narrators and 18 acting parts involving a lot of mime or dance.
The script is extremely adaptable and funny.
The original poem was wordy so it’s been altered slightly and would be most suitable for year 3/P4 and anything right through secondary school.
If you wanted to adapt it for a younger class I would recommend giving the narrators the words to read on cards rather than learning them off.
Assembly script based on the ‘Twas the night before Christmas’ poem. The script comprises of 30 parts. The teacher or Teaching Assistants should narrate while the class act it out through mime or dance. Santa is the only speaking part, which could be covered by a teacher too.
The script is extremely adaptable and funny.
The original poem was wordy so it’s been altered slightly, but is sure to bring tears, laughter and Christmassy joy.
An assembly explaining phonics in a fun way. The aim is to have one class educate other classes or even parents on the basics of phonics. It briefly explains: phonemes, digraphs, trigraphs, blending and has some practical rhymes, songs and games to help demonstrate these. It was written with year 2/3 in mind but can easily be adapted to work for any class above year 1. I would also suggest this a whole school assembly with staff acting it out for parents/children.
I still meet parents who’s children have made it to year 6 and have not understood the basics of phonics or why it’s used within school. I highly recommend taking time to educate parents in phonics so they feel like they can help with homework etc.
Hope this saves you time :)
Fun introduction to 6 of the Greek Gods (Athena, Poseidon, Aphrodyte, Hades, Hestia, Zeus) and the myth of Medusa and Athena. This was incredibly fun to perform and involves embarrassing some teachers too…which kids and parents love to see.
Lines for 30 pupils and costume ideas.
Approriate for ks2 +
Enjoy :)
A planning overview for a year in a P7 or year 6 class. Planning is broken down into terms, it does not include resources but will help you organise your topics and meet all your targets. The maths planning was given by the head of maths for our school.
Hope it saves you some time :)
14 images and song titles. Cut and laminate each them put them into a box or bag, shake it up and allow the children to choose one to sing at the end of the day.
I've done this activity with every year group upto y2 and they loved the independence of choosing the song.
Also great for EAL kids to develop language skills with the rest of the class.
Display this powerpoint at the end of a lesson.
It shows symbols used for self assessment and a range of sentence starters for pupils to record in their books for both self and peer assessment. The sentence starters are general and should be applicable to all subjects.
Saves a lot of time rather than recording red pen questions for individual children.
Differentiated writing task on what role you want to have when you grow up. I've used this as a homework, literacy and IPC task. A great into for a new class or for an intro into a topic about different jobs.
Short differentiated checklist of the punctuation needed to be learnt at the end of year 1. Assesses the pupils formation, understanding of the punctuation use and ability to put it into a sentence.
LA children may need to be supported, but the rest of the class can complete this independently. Also a great task to complete at the start of year 2 to check how much the children have retained from year 1.
A list of ways to incorporate dance and drama into your curriculum; including a range of games, starters and books which have excellent cross curricular links. Can be adapted throughout the key stages.
