A bumper lesson on a typical businesses stakeholders. The presentation looks at the main stakeholders for different businesses and their differing objectives. Stakeholders I have focused on include workers, customers, managers, suppliers, government and the local community. The lesson includes numerous real life business examples with an emphasis on McDonalds. There are also a number of tasks throughout the lesson to help keep students engaged. I have also included a nice worksheet on stakeholders to be used at the end of the PPT. I have also included a nice 10 question multiple choice quiz on stakeholders and other topics as a perfect starter for the lesson. Perfect for GCSE Business Studies.

A great lesson on teaching business ethics. The lesson starts with students asked to decide whether it is right that Nike uses sweatshops to increase profits - students write down their response on a post-it note and add it to the whiteboard. Students are then shown a great 20 minute documentary on Nike and Sweatshops (link to video included) and then they get an opportunity to change their view. This lesson then looks at the pros and cons of businesses operating ethically and how it may impact their image. The PPT includes examples of some of the least ethical businesses. The lesson then looks at the evidence of whether McDonald’s is ethical or not. Students then consolidate their learning with the 2 page worksheet. A great fun and interactive lesson that helps cover the Growing as a Business topic in GCSE Business Studies.

The lesson looks at the main pros and cons for each and provides relevant examples. I have also included great video links to life in both Cuba and North Korea that will help students fully understand life in a planned economy. I have also included a detailed worksheet on the three economic systems. There is also a good group work task, where students need to argue which economy is the best or worse. A great selection of resources that is aimed at GCSE Economic / Business Studies students, but could easily be adapted for A-Level students.

The lesson also looks at the pros and cons of typical business models such as sole traders, partnerships, LTD’s and PLC’s. I have also included a condensed student copy of the presentation which includes key theory and tasks. Every year OCR GCSE Economics release a stimulus material that will be used in the The UK Economy & Globalisation exam (50% of final grade). Over the last three years I have dissected the stimulus material and added my own theory behind the evidence, quotes, graphs and figures. I then include exam style questions that may be asked to help prepare students for their upcoming exam. I have included 12 key revision packs that cover the key topics from last three years (2014, 2015 and 2016). To help students prepare for the 2017 stimulus material and exam these resources may prove to be very useful. They also cover key theory from the unit so may be useful as outright lessons. Some of my packs include student copies - these are slimmed down versions of the main revision packs. Each pack includes a screenshot of the key figures from the stimulus material, keywords and theory and exam style questions. A nice fun group work lesson that helps cover recruitment. This lessons helps turn your classroom into an assessment centre. The lesson will put students into a candidates shoes, where they will be expected to complete numerous tasks before an overall candidate is given the key job (the best student on the day). The lesson first looks at the theory of the different ways candidates can be tested. Students will the have to complete an aptitude test (I have included 2, choose which one you want to use). You then start the group task - this is done to see which team works the best and who creates the biggest straw tower. Resources will obviously need to provided by the teacher. The teacher then fills in the grading sheet and announces which candidiate(s) have impressed the most and gets the job. A nice fun lesson that works really well straight after teaching the recruitment process. Perfect for engaging GCSE Business Studies students.
