Create Tudor Houses and fiery backgrounds

(27)
Children develop collage skills as well as understanding of Tudor houses and materials used to build them as part of the Great Fire of London Topic. Children then look at paintings of the Great fire of london, thinking about secondary sources, and then paint atmospheric fiery pictures to form the background of a display. Very effective when all put together.

two more sheets to go with previous ones for this topic. Cut and stick sheet with pictures of physical and human features for children to sort plus drawing od Katie Morag's Island where children are instructed to colour physical features green and human features red. Good differentiation allowing children to choose how they show you what they know.

worksheets and activities, with planning to link to Katie Morag topic, differentiateed activities for children to show their understanding of physical and human features of a landscape. Children choose which activity they would like to do - colour coding a drawing of Katie's Island, cutting and sticking different picutres of features into the correct column on a table, or using a sheet of useful words to write their own sentences to explain the difference between the two types of feature. Two other activity sheets are on here to use with this lesson as well, under physical / human

IWB pages to work through to explain the difference between physical and human features of an environment. The last page has lots of different features hiding the words physical or human behind them depending on what they are, as a plenary to the lesson children can come up and say what type they think it s and why, then move the picture to reveal the correct answer.

Simple and colourful sheet to share with parents once children can read unfamiliar texts on sight and you are wanting to develop their comprehension and deduction skills. Simple information about the range or AFs in reading, and example questions to ask to get evidence of children's understanding for each AF. I am planning on giving these out at parents evening.
