Hi everyone! Iāve decided to watch the new Disney movie Luca with a class of young teenagers. This is a beautiful movie that came out during summer of 2021 and it has such a great moral. As there isnāt much material available related to the movie on the Internet, Iāve prepared a comprehension worksheet to work with my students. The activities were designed for students at a pre-intermediate/intermediate level. The worksheet includes:
1- A summary for students to complete with words from a box
2- A set of statements that students will analyze to decide if they are true or false
3- A list of characters that students will use to describe their main qualities
4- A set of questions for oral discussion
5- A game!
Hope you find it useful!
In these slides, youāll find authentic and contextualized grammar practice to help students master the present tense (simple and continuous) and past tense (past continuous).
The tasks are based on the movie āEnola Holmesā which Netflix launched last September 23 2020. This movie is so good and the perfect excuse to get students to practice grammar in a controlled but purposeful and meaningful way. For each tense, your students will have a grammar explanation and practice activities based on the movie (this is not a comprehension worksheet but the exercises have to do with the movie - thatās why students must watch it to make the tasks more relevant to them).
I really hope this product helps your students with grammar!
I created a guide to work with the docufilm āThe Social Dilemmaā which Netflix launched in September. It could be used as a whole unit since there are more than 30 pages of comprehension work! It includes pre, while and post viewing tasks. I also wrote a teacherās key version that is included towards the end of the file.
These are the contents of the guide:
a) The Social Monsterās Origin (before watching). Pages 1-2
b) Silicon Valley Tech Geniuses (from beginning up to 10:38 m). Pages 3-8
c) The Business Model (from 10:40 up to 23:30 m). Pages 9-13
d) Social Media: tools or something else? (from 23:30 up to 44 m). Pages 14-17
e) New Level on Technology or Checkmate on Humanity? (from 44:00 up to 1:00:10 m). Pages 18-21
f) The Existential Threat (from 1:00:10 up to 1:22:49 m). Pages 22-27
g) Can we do better? - Follow up from the guide (from 1:22:50 m up to the end). Pages 28-32.
Hope you like it!

After watching the movie āInside Outā, students can complete this worksheet.
You can also adapt this sheet to me it interactive and use it in Zoom! (visit liveworksheets.com)
My students loved this escape room! If they have analyzed either the book or the movie āAlice in Wonderlandā, this is a great way of giving closure to that topic!
Instructions:
Everybody gets a stack of notecards. Get into groups of 6-8. In each group, assign a reader and a scorekeeper. (The reader will rotate each round.) When a photo comes on the screen, quietly write a caption for the picture to create a meme. Fold your notecard and submit it to your reader. After everyone has submitted a caption, the reader reads each caption aloud and selects their favorite one. Go around in your group and guess who wrote the readerās choice. +1 point to everyone who guesses correctly;
+2 points for the writer of the caption if no one guesses! Whoever has most points by the end of the game wins!
Youāll find instructions and templates for the following games and activities for young learners:
Making a Toy Story themed dice
Where are the toys?
Toy Story graphing
Toy Story classification
Find and trace the shape
Which one is different?
Word matching
-Youāve got a friend in me!

This is a comprehension worksheet that Iāve designed to work with the very first episode of āThe Crownā from Netflix. Throughout the activities, students are supposed to:
Order events
Answer comprehension questions
Complete a description
Decide who said certain lines
Write whether statements are true or false
Carry out further research on important concepts from the episode
The activities are guided as it is stated in each exercise the exact minutes students should pay attention to in order to successfully complete the activities.
Iām positive that your students will love this series as much as mine do!

In these decks, youāll find authentic and contextualized grammar practice to help students master the present tense (simple and continuous) and past tense (simple and continuous). You only need to download the pdf and click on the links!
The tasks are based on the movie āEnola Holmesā which Netflix launched last September 23 2020. In the case of the present tenses, in addition to completing sentences, students will have to describe pictures by filling in the blanks with what they can see and what is happening. These answers are free and teacher-graded so that instructors can really measure how much students have learned.
For past tenses, in addition to completing sentences, students will have to answer a question in at least 50 words to explain how the movie ends. These answers are free and teacher-graded so that instructors can really measure how much students have learned. A full movie guide to work with the movie ONWARD! There are pre, while and post viewing tasks as well as a BONUS game at the end ;) My students loved it!
As promised, Iāve designed and worked with the first episode of the series Unorthodox, a really interesting and controversial series which deals with Hasidic communities (orthodox Jewish communities) and gender roles . This set of activities is intended for pre-intermediate students who are not ready to comprehend long stretches of oral discourse. Hope you find it useful as I did.
Part 1 āHASIDIC COMMUNITIES THE NEW YORK TIMES READINGā to activate background knowledge of the topic. I included an authentic article from the New York Times which is about Hasidic communities and coronavirus. Students complete some reading activities and then focus on vocabulary related to the pandemic and a grammar exercise to summarize the article in which they work with present simple and present continuous.
Part 2 "HALF WAY THROUGH THE FIRST EPISODEāā. There are a number of pre, while and post comprehension activities to check understanding of the first half of episode 1.
Part 3 ''ROUNDING OFF THE FIRST EPISODE": Same as part 2, this time with more varied activities and a final writing task.
BONUS! The aim of this questionnaire is that students are able to describe a scene, to help them with retelling of the PLOT. The questions can guide them to go through and explain the storyline .
My students really liked the series and learned a lot about these communities, gender roles and coronavirus!
UPDATE Iāll be uploading a full guide for Wonder and Modern Family soon! Also Anne with an E is on the way! If you buy now, youāll get this update free of charge!!!
