These are SPAG starters that I use with Y5. These are a few I’ve used throughout the year. They are tailored to the topics that I used them in, but they are easily adaptable for different lessons.

This is a capacity lesson based on Harry Potter. You will need some containers with various liquids in. I used water with food colouring. For the broomstick salt and wand powder, I used Gellibaff and crushed up bath bombs so that they reacted with the water like real life magic. These questions build upon prior knowledge from Y5, and gradually introduce Y6 content in a manageable way. Other half terms will be available, and an editable version can be shared upon request.
