C.V. for Proofreading

Great activity to start a lesson on C.V.s. Cut up the C.V. into pieces and ask the students to construct it. Then get them to proofread for the many mistakes. Allows students to identify and explore the possible layouts of a C.V. and recognise the importance of proofreading such an important document. Perfect for Literacy, ESOL, English and Employability classes from entry levels to level 2.

New Vocabulary Worksheet

A new vocabulary worksheet that can be given to students to record new words on. There is space for the word, meaning, the word in a sentence, synonyms and a 'draw it' space for learners to illustrate the word to aid their memory or even add a translation. I use this with ESOL students but it could be used with any learner who needs to record and remember new vocabulary.

Christmas and Festivals Lesson for ESOL learners

(0)
Lesson resources for an ESOL lesson looking at festivals and the contemporary traditions of Christmas. Focusing specifically on using present and past tenses to describe festivals and Christmas. Resources could fill at least an hour and a half worth of lessons. Best suited to entry level learners. Questionnaire - Resource/worksheet to allow learners to practice asking questions about festivals and produce writing and speaking in the present and past tense. Reading and writing activity - Worksheet/reading text about someones experience of Christmas, what they do every year, last year and this year. Models different tenses and asks learners to highlight the verbs and tenses then write their own piece of writing about a festival they celebrate.

Find Someone Who... - Starter activity for ESOL students (ESOL/ESL/EAL/EFL)

This fun starter activity is designed for ESOL or entry level literacy students. Ideal for the beginning of term as a quick 'get to know you' activity. The worksheet included is ready to print, with clear instructions on the second page you'll be able to run with it straight away. Asking learners to find out interesting information about each other, it not only breaks the ice but enables learners to practise simple question forming as well as valuable speaking and listening practice. This is a resource I've used for years, it never fails to get learners chatting and enables them to learn whilst finding out about their peers.
