The first text is missing its past participles or imperfect tense, the second is missing a variety of words. Each text has the missing words listed beneath it. Could be extended by asking pupils to create their own text, then removing words for a partner to work out how to fill the gaps.

They have to fill in the gaps in the diary by listening to the teacher/their partner reading the full text (provided on second page), then complete the summary in French to show the main points.
