What will do I get: The short story 21 targets questions Extension activity What will this comprehension do for your students? 1.As an English teacher I find that reading and answering comprehension questions are important because they help students understand what they have read. I wanted to create a comprehension that not could be used for a class discussion but also as individual answers. I think ‘The Splendid Cannabils’ has it all!! These questions I have created to go with the story is to make students think about the main ideas and details, making sure they really get the point of the text. I have put the questions into the text at key areas so that it can be accessed by all levels of student. I have found that the questions will also help students to remember what they have read by getting them to focus on key parts and think about them more deeply. In addition, this practice builds their vocabulary and helps them learn how to explain our thoughts clearly. I have also added in an extension activity for those who work faster or it could be used as homework.

*Are your students lacking in confidence in answering questions on Paper 1 Then look no further – **What will this Powerpoint do for you? **1 Based on 2018 paper that walk students through answering Section A **2 Help on how to understand the questions **3 Powepoint has easy to follow instructions and guidance on how to answer each question **4 Sentence starters for each question to help you build up your students skills confidently This is a resource I created to help my borderline grade 3/4 students, it is a ‘walkthrough’. I have based the Power Point on Paper 1, November 2018. I generally use this Power Point over 2 or 3 separate lessons. I have found that borderline students often struggle with putting together a good answer, they often do not know key words to use or how to structure it. I use PEEZE and PEE which I think is standard. I also find that these students need short chunking activities to keep them interested. I have created a separate worksheet that breaks each question down to help the students create an answer. **A Sound of Thunder–Ray Bradbury is copyright for AQA Resource available on AQA website In this pack I have included: Power -Point Worksheet with the full exam questions Dinosaur Worksheet
