Geography has always been my favourite subject; unlike other subject areas, it truly offers the chance to explore and understand the world around us. The nature of geography, is to learn about both the physical, and human world. I chose a degree that encompassed all physical processes, and the impacts of human kind across the world, including: tectonic plate formation, planetary/stellar formation, renewable energy, mine remediation and more. I believe that Geography has a place within the STEM curriculum, for helping students to better understand the world around them, but is also essential in helping students to understand, respect and appreciate a variety of different stake holder views.
