Year 1/ 2 three week fiction plan for Dear Zoo by Rob Campbell. The plan uses the T4W structure. The first week explores vocabulary and introduces the story, the second week includes grammar and the third supports children to plan and write a story. There are several writing opportunities that leads to an end of unit write. Resources also available to accompany this planning unit. The resources are FREE as I did not make them all.

Year 2/3 two week instruction unit plan- How to make finger puppets. Plan includes Year 2 and Year 3 writing milestones including grammar skills, short burst writing opportunity and end of unit writing. By the end of the unit children will plan and write their own instructions. Other resources include a box-up plan template, a SEN box-up plan template and a high quality modeled write including all skills taught in the unit. Resources needed to make puppets: felt, markers, needle, thread and buttons.

Planning is written using the Year 2 and Year 3 writing milestones- relating to the National Curriculum. Unit includes skill based grammar lessons, spelling lesson, short burst writes, planning and end of unit story with time for editing. Children will innovate their own short story by the end of the unit.
