This resource is made up of 3 retrieval practice examples. I have tailored them for my Year 3/4 class for our Stone Age to Iron Age topic but they could be adapted for any history unit.
In this resource, there is:
Remember It - Task: Write down some words under each heading that you associate with each period in the Stone Age. You could also draw images.
You could think about the following things: tools, homes, food, and clothing. (the two headings are old Stone Age (paleolithic) and new Stone Age (neolithic).
Picture Prompt - Task: The images show Stone Age cave paintings. What might these images tell us about life in the Stone Age? (there are 3 images of various Stone Age cave paintings).
Picture Prompt 2 - Task: Explain how each image is connected to how people lived in the Bronze Age (4 images related to the Bronze Age - Bronze Smith, Bronze Age tools, Roundhouses, Ships in the Bronze Age)
Super simple but editable exit ticket for a Geography settlements unit. It can be adapted for other subjects and units and even to an entrance ticket as an example of retrieval practice.
The ticket is currently an exit ticket with the question ‘what makes a good settlement site?’
