This is the 8th lesson of my year 9 tourism unit. The lesson looks at tourism in a HIC. First students locate Dubai and look at why people like to holiday there. From this students learn the impacts of tourism in Dubai before designing their very own hotel for Dubai.

This is a fantastic lesson that has been created for my impossible places unit. The lesson starts by looking at the Burj Kahalifa, followed by objectives. Then students locate Dubai, look at what it is like to day using video, and then the lesson focuses on Dubai’s buildings and man-made islands. The lesson ends with a plenary.

This is a another lesson for theme 1 of the WJEC A Geography 9-1 specification. The lesson looks at both hard engineering and soft engineering techniques used to manage the river Severn. The lesson involves two 60 second guides full of information which can also be found online and i do not own. I hope the lessons goes as well as it did for me!

This is the 9th lesson (and last!) that I have created for the coasts section of Theme 1 for the Geography WJEC a 9-1 Specification. The lesson begins with a starter activity which asks students to name 4 types of hard engineering. The lesson then continues to identify the difference between hard engineering and soft engineering, followed by detailing notes on each type of management using you tube video's (links can be found in the power point) The lesson ends with a plenary.

This is the third lesson of my China unit. The lesson begins by allowing students to identify their differences between their own school day to a school day in China. Following from this the students have a chance to write letters to a pen pal in China to discuss their school days. There is also an exam question activity too.

This is the third lesson that I have created for a unit titled: Who are the Masai Mara. The lesson starts with a short starter followed by objectives. The students then locate the Masai Mara tribe and learn some quick facts about them. The students then ‘go on a safari tour’ collecting facts to answer their worksheets. Following this carousel activity are a few short videos. The lesson ends with a plenary. Students loved this lesson!

This is an exciting unit of work that I have created for my year 7 geographers. Each lesson they look at a new location around the globe and look at why it is considered an impossible place to live. One of my favourite lessons looking at factories in China, focusing on the inside of one of China’s Foxcon (Apple) factories. Students begin by looking at how many of their clothes/belongings are from China. After writing down their objectives, students learn the terms NIC and globalisation before homing in on Foxcon.

This is the second lesson that I have created and taught to my classes for the WJEC/ EDUQUS for the first theme. The lesson looks at the 3 key processes that occur in a river. First the lesson looks at erosion which involves a little experiment to get students hooked, followed by transportation and deposition. A great lesson that I have enjoyed teaching!

This is a lesson that I have created and used for the new WJEC Geography A specification 9-1 (Examining in 2018). This lesson is for the first lesson of Theme 1 which looks at the water cycle, as well as the drainage basin. It's a great lesson to introduce the first Theme to our Geographers and follows the specification guide lines. I thoroughly enjoyed teaching this lesson and hope you will too!
