This was one of the questions on the 2024 AQA paper. I set it for my students this week in class and while they were writing I wrote this model one to share with them as an example of the sort of thing I am looking for.

We re-wrote our SoW to be more relevant to our local context and we love Skegness, our nearest seaside town
You could of course change the name of the town to your closest resort, I hope it’s as fun as Skeg

Two worksheets (4 sides of A4 in total) /independent activities on post 16 plans designed to be independent activities over 2 lessons.
Sheet 1: basic vocab, translation into English then translation of VERY similar sentences into French followed by a bsic sentence builder.
Sheet 2 : more detailled sentence builder to write sentences about plans post 16 includes easy comprehension reading activity with a lot of repeated vocabulary. Students write their own sentences using the builder then read 4 short paragraphs about future plans and pick out the main information.
The idea is that they use the paragraphs as a model for their own piece of writing.

A good intro to the topic and I have made this for home learning. I found it took my students 20 mins or so when we did it on Teams. Would make a good homework or cover task but also good to crack on with in class.

Students fill in vocab Spanish to English and vice versa. Then they use the sentence builder (modals) to write about Christmas.
The battleships game they see as a reward but in fact they have to read sentences many many times to win.

Followed by three model paragraphs - all very similar with details changed. I was going to use the opportunity to revise telling the time and daily routine. Students are asked to complete three gapfilled translations into English then translate one back into French.
Finally they should be able to write about their own Christmas.

Six pages of revision that I prepared for my year 7 students to use independently. We are using the textbook Allez and our upcoming assessment will rely heavily on Unit 3 with some vocabulary from the first two units thrown in.
The revision booklet covers vocabulary, sentences and translation. There is a Foundation GCSE style writing activity with support down the left- hand side of the page.
This booklet would be ideal for a cover lesson.
