AQA French AS & A Level overview - Taster/Induction session
Great ressource to introduce new A Level French exam.
I used this as part of a taster session to encourage students to choose French A Level
PPT includes:
- detailed description of AS content & assessments
- overview of A Level
MFL (French/German/Spanish) Advent calendar - Christmas competition
To get in the Christmas spirit and promote languages, my MFL department has been running a very successful competition over the last few years.
Students use their creative skills to produce an original Advent Calendar using as much target language as possible.
PPT includes:
- a few slides with instructions
- copies of the email sent to MFL staff, students, tutors, MFL prefects and librarian (where the calendars are displayed)
- list of 40 christmas words for German, Spanish and French
I have also added Awards certificates created with Publisher.
New Viva 2 - Module 1 - Unit 2 - ¿Qué hiciste?
This PPT follows the new Viva 2 textbook and includes activities to cover the second unit of Module 1 “¿Qué hiciste?” p10 & 11.
It contains 30 slides and includes:
the presentation of new vocabulary with games to consolidate the learning of vocabulary
listening, speaking and reading activities from p10 & 11
slides explaining the preterite tense of regular -Ar verbs as well as some activities to practise.
French GCSE differentiated knowledge organisers/model texts on School (W./S.)
This resource was created for my Y10/11 students as a way to help them prepare for the Writing and Speaking components of the new AQA GCSE French examinations.
Contains 2 Word documents:
Foundation level
Higher level with a colour coded system to highlight the more complex structures and extra tenses.
Both texts include opinion phrases, different tenses and are translated in English to help comprehension. I have added the AQA recommended vocabulary from the “My studies”, “Life at school” and Education post-16" sections.
It is fully editable and once downloaded just remove the boxes to see the texts.

This resource was created for my Y10/11 students as a way to help them prepare for the Writing and Speaking components of the new AQA GCSE Spanish examinations.

Spanish Preterite tense game - connect 4 - 4 en rayas
Great resource to engage your students while practising the preterite tense
This activity is all interactive. It includes a table with different verbs to translate into the Spanish preterite tense. When a team is correct click on the box and it transforms to the team’s colour (red or yellow) on the click of the mouse.
